@dauphin87 Almost happened. We were in Jaipur and there was a wedding at our hotel, the groom arriving atop an elephant. They invited us to the wedding. We declined but watched the dancing from a distance. With no understanding of Indian social norms we worried about us strangers intruding on their wedding. Years later I wish we'd gone, and wish more I knew what was polite. Need a Shrimati Manners advice columnist.
