Really bad disaster, releasing not just toxic but war crime type of things into the atmosphere. Will have effects outside of Ohio, and likely for months, if not years to follow.

Vinyl chloride is a chemical burning at the site.

People in the area feel that it's not being discussed as a serious problem and the news is parroting the rail companies PR statements instead.

It gets dark. So many reports of things like people's chickens dying, wild animals dying, pets becoming sick, yet they say it's safe to return. Media actively ignoring all the first hand evidence being shared. Hell, a reporter was even arrested at the mayor's speech a few days ago - charged him with trespassing.

Apparently the rail workers knew this was a potential disaster for a long while, but cutting corners to save money was more important.
