WARNING: Unpopular opinion incoming.
I realize it's like, super trendy right now to bash Shein, but folks... Unless you have an affordable alternative that doesn't do all the things you vilify Shein for doing, stop coming at people who are just trying to buy pants.
Sweatshop labor, child labor, slave labor, toxic chemicals, manufacturing waste, etc? Guess what, you just described every single major retailer accessible to most of us.
Would I like to dress in 100% organic and sustainable clothing hand-stitched by a local artisan? Sure, that would be neat.
But I cannot afford it.
I need clothes, and Shein has what I need, in my size, which is far more than I can say about my limited local selection, which consists of WalMart and a farm supply store that gets its clothes from the exact same place.
@LAHolloway That's why I thrift 95% of my clothes. Gotta do what you gotta do.
@tyote I do a lot of thrifting too, but pants are the one thing I have to buy new and online. I just cannot find them in my size, ever, not even in Walmart.
@LAHolloway I get it. What else are you supposed to do, wear rags? (That were also probably sourced from sweatshops?)
If only everyone would just grow and process a field of cotton or sheep's wool, then meticulously weave every article of clothing...
😝
@tyote bwahahaha right!?🤣
