Some really good thoughts here.
Primarily that in every developed country in the world--incumbents have been losing elections this year. And that this is the first time this has ever happened.
This appears to be due to inflation and "post-pandemic malaise". And the incumbent party did better in the US than in most other countries.
The other major element is a "toxic information environment".
