@Heucuva8 I saw one video yesterday, of someone explaining why it won't work, but hadn't heard about it till then. Still am unsure what people are trying to do, but I heard enough to know they are fucking morons for trying it. lol
So it doesn't actually work, but here's how it "works"...
Get a check from your checkbook, deposit it in a local ATM, then withdraw however much you want (even $10000 or more π).
Then Chase can't do anything since you already have the money. πππ
Oh, my eyes hurt.

Nevermind that ATMs don't disburse that much
@Heucuva8 @janallmac @Evereigh
Also, you can't withdraw the full amount of a check unless it's been verified. Either by ATM or with a teller.
@Heucuva8 @janallmac @Evereigh
Ah. Got it.
Still, the idea that they'd not face consequences is pretty funny.
I did some ATM trickery in the around 1990 when I was desperate, but I knew it would have consequences.
Problem is, when you deposit by ATM, sometimes it doesn't put it on hold automatically. That's what Chase found with theirs. So people were getting to withdraw, but it hadn't cleared yet.
