Holy Hell, I'm dying. Has anyone else heard about the "Chase Bank glitch"? Jesus Christ this is why we need a class on Financial Management taught in Middle School.

@Heucuva8 I saw one video yesterday, of someone explaining why it won't work, but hadn't heard about it till then. Still am unsure what people are trying to do, but I heard enough to know they are fucking morons for trying it. lol

So it doesn't actually work, but here's how it "works"...

Get a check from your checkbook, deposit it in a local ATM, then withdraw however much you want (even $10000 or more πŸ™„).

Then Chase can't do anything since you already have the money. πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„
Oh, my eyes hurt.

Nevermind that ATMs don't disburse that much

Yeah, the instructions said to do small amounts per transaction... πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ I guess they didn't know how ATMs work either.

Also, you can't withdraw the full amount of a check unless it's been verified. Either by ATM or with a teller.

Problem is, when you deposit by ATM, sometimes it doesn't put it on hold automatically. That's what Chase found with theirs. So people were getting to withdraw, but it hadn't cleared yet.

Ah. Got it.

Still, the idea that they'd not face consequences is pretty funny.

I did some ATM trickery in the around 1990 when I was desperate, but I knew it would have consequences.
