Ok. Like everyone I am looking for answers about how the Apalachee school shooting resulted in casualties. I am sad and mad about this as well. I have questions though, like if all the doors lock when shut how did the shooter "Lean in" the Algebra classroom and start shooting? If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. What was the policy on classroom doors during class time? What is mandated for that? I can't wait for Harris to become president and we take back the house.
@tw33k Can't say on that situation, but at the university where I worked, the doors locked from the inside. If the instructor failed to lock the door (like a student went to the restroom and they were waiting for a return), there's a lean in. And doors can be shot out. They typically aren't bullet proof. A big discussion was whether to have to little windows so you could see who is on the other side.
@TheresaVermont what do mean a "Lean in"? Is that something to to do with the door itself, or does that mean it was just opened a little bit?
@TheresaVermont ah, gotcha. Thank you.
@tw33k It's really difficult. In my world as a college instructor, most of the buildings I taught in did not have air conditioning. Students walked in late or left for the restroom. It's just not easy.
@TheresaVermont apparently there doesn't seem to be a mandate for the classroom doors to have been closed at all times per their school board policies.
