Definitely a bummer both scientifically and symbolically. It was important for the people of Puerto Rico and the scientists that work there. I did not visit it when I was there several times last year thinking it would be a nice treat in a future trip.
@tmbrown327 I know there was a lot of damage to the support cables, and that gantry weighed about 800 tons
