Went to breakfast with a slew of retired policemen/women this a.m. It's been 23yrs since I saw many of them. They were hard to recognize, as they are pretty damn elderly. Even the brass of my time attended. I learned that they've been meeting for some time once a month. They were only 2 ppl on waitstaff! I also found out that at times, the entire restaurant is filled with us old cops. Good, since we're at the age when you don't know who is going to pass away tomorrow. Pic is not of Hon.cops.
@AskTheDevil if the talk goes over to our former line of work, it's humorous, not serious. 2 guys who were in the department slightly longer than me showed up at my table soon after I walked in and laughingly introduced themselves. I used to be huge fans of them because they were so welcoming when I was new.
@tirebiter73 I'm glad you had a nice time.
@AskTheDevil besides, for most of us, being a policeman was in the far far past. We look like a collection of old men and women. It wasn't like a wild watch party. We are old, most of us retired in our late 50's or early 60's. So 20yrs later we're in our 70's and 80's.
