Watching ... One of the reasons I don't watch a lot of American films is because it's all ... stupid and cliche and unoriginal. They do the same things over and over. Same conflicts, same characters, same motivations etc. Its never a new take on an issue or a different perspective. American writers have the same mindset and they look at the world the same way which is why everything feels exactly the same and they make the same films over and over again. Same exact characters.

Alien Romulus was the same thing. It was a cut and paste of so many of the same things. It's not nostalgia it's simply unoriginality. It's boring and shows that you have absolutely no new ideas to bring to the cinematic table. And that seems crazy to me because there are so many writers out there ... but when you all see the world the exact same way as everyone else you can't begin to be creative. There is no creativity because everyone is in the same state of mind with the same limitations.

The tornado touched down at the rodeo and it's the same scene like the first one at the drive-in ... it's like do they think no one watched the first one but they also know people love the first one because they use a lot of the same dialogue, same beats, same mentions ... So what is the point of making this? For money because people will watch it because they don't care. The people who know this already and complain about this stuff get attacked but the truth is they aren't fooled.

I do love Maura Tierney ... Her presence is so strong with such very little effort. She doesn't have to speak and she is so intense. Brilliant and underappreciated actress. I love her role in this. There's a wonderful and simple power in her acting. Her moment in this is the best thing about this film.
