Through the partnership, users of both Oura and Dexcom's products will have access to glucose data from Dexcom glucose biosensors and sleep, heart health, stress, vital-sign and activity data from the Oura Ring available on Dexcom's app and Oura's app.
The companies say the data will allow users to track their glucose levels and understand how their behavior and biology affect their metabolic health.
The integration is projected to launch in the first half of 2025.
@thewebrecluse first, glad this works in your favor. You were one of the folks who shared their Oura experience which supported my interest in getting one. Dexcom is a regulated medical devices company, Oura as far as I can tell is not. My ignorant concern is data privacy and data loss. Its in both companies interest to keep customer data private. I wonder if both Dexcom and Oura become more attractive targets as a result of the data sharing. 🤷🏻♂️
@fuse I don't care about that stuff. I care more about my health than whatever someone wants to do with my health data.
@fuse I also keep a ton of my own data so loss doesn't concern me. Between all the various hospital data breaches, bank breaches, etc everyones data and info has long since been available to data brokers for decades. So ... it's not a concern of mine. But do you 👍🏾
@thewebrecluse makes sense! 🤗
As someone who has been doing MANUAL pen and paper correlations between my blood sugar, diet, and my overall health with Oura since 2016 ... this is something I have been waiting on happening and KNEW would be happening.
I am looking forward to NOT having to keep track of these things separately anymore.
As I have said many times before health trackers are USELESS unless you correlate all that data to aspects of the rest of your life.
This is a no brainer.
