We cannot automatically believe video testimony ever again.

Epic (video game company) demonstration* of motion capture with an iPhone, no external face rig, and nearly immediate rendering by one computer and playback onto multiple realistic faces.

*Epic demonstrated the first production-grade version 6 years ago. What will it do in 6 more?

@b4cks4w 👍🏾 the tech is looking pretty amazing indeed considering the idea is to do all of this on a phone. It's not deep fake quality by any means but for video game animation and general animation at that quality and scale on a phone and one machine ... I'm SICK impressed with how far they have come and how fast the work can be done. Epic.

@thewebrecluse The actress seems unworried she's out of a job soon. Looks like it to me; maybe a few more years.

@b4cks4w Yeah all the mocap stuff is insanely expensive for one and it takes a long while ... even with the tech they invented for something like avatar ... this is going to make video game and film work less expensive by a ton and also open it up for smaller companies to create AAA looking animations. It's great tech.
