despite her name she eats mostly greens like a good girl. she's also very people oriented, which is strange for Ornates. they're usually extremely shy.
@redenigma @ThrasherPrime My eastern boxie is an antisocial grump, who prefers nightcrawlers to ANY other form of food. But at least he's cute!

@theunabeefer i used to have an Eastern boxie when i was a teen.
i feel like there should be boxies in my woods, but they're endangered in NH & the 2 known populations aren't near me. i do have Blanding's turtles though... wild ones
@redenigma My wife is a director at a museum that has been helping bring back the blandings population. Those things are so cute!
We obtained our boxie after some morons dumped him at a pond in the middle of Chicago. Missing a foot, with a bunch of epoxy on the front of his shell (it fell off a year later)... Since my wife works with turtles, and all my friends referred to her as "the turtle girl" it was only natural we take him in.
