@WDEFAustenOnek: We've been having the hefty gusts since yesterday here at the edge of the mountains in western NC, gusts between 30 and 50 MPH. Downed trees in town knocked out power for four hours yesternight. Gusts are only up to 40 MPH today, as per the weather station at the radio station down the block.
