1/2: The Right/Alt-White Wing rank-and-file have for decades been fearing and campaigning against a police state, a surveillance state, a kleptocratic state, i.e., The Deep State, and now they're about to get one, and I imagine that for some number of them, especially black and Latino members of that political wing, are going to finally understand what folks with any sense have been saying for decades:
If you get your guys elected, your numbers are up because they do't want you here/free.
2/2: The Soviets pulled off a great switch. From the 1920s until the 1980s they infiltrated Western press, academic, and labor, but then they pivoted after Reagan and their buckling under Bush I to taking over the American Right, their staunchest foes/foils throughout the 20th century. The neoliberals gave them the best assists ever, too, by essentially giving up on Progressivism and Labour.
Everyone was warned, but no, "the Cold War is over!"
And here we are.
