1/2: It's wild, the number pretend-Christians who are so bonered for the "Prosperity Gospel" or "building generational wealth" and who quote mostly Old Testament Proverbs to support their position but argue semantics and plead "allegory" (or some other crap) when the rest of the OT and any of the NT are shared in argument against their position.
God wants them to have big houses, vacation houses, nice cars, nice clothes, and to have status? Why? To show how rewarding God is to the faithful.

2/2: Seriously, that's often the case spoken/read back. If God's People are wealthy, then more people will be attracted to God.
