camera at banks are not for identifying suspects.
they really only used to make sure the insurance companies pays. 😄
@BLuOXide: People and vehicles do get identified from bank security camera footage, and in roughly the last decade, new security cameras at banks, stores, and even gas stations have been actively being replaced by 720p (at worst) and 4k (at best) cameras.
Of course, "CSI" and other shows had people believing twenty years ago that bank and other security cameras had enhancement that made them better than spy satellites and the Hubble Space Telescope.
@thedisasterautist the newer cameras are so cool !
we got a cheap one, really impressive for the price.
records at 1080p , with sound and night vision too.
really fun, now in the morning, kids check the footage to see what wildlife visits us at night
@thedisasterautist A bit of irony... many of the banks that do get decent cameras... it happens only after they've been robbed.
But yeah, with the cost of comeras these days, there really is no excuse for using the old 480p ones.
