I learned long ago that if I don't push through and get shit done, take care of things, then most of the time the shit won't get done... or worse, it will get done badly and require doing over... or worse, all of that will happen *and* people will still tell me I owe them or some crap and never STFU about it. It's a fait accompli, and I'm Absurddhist about it. One day at a time, yanno.
