: It happens, and it happens a lot. You just can't say it too loudly on social media, or you're way likely to get inundated with "Not me!" and "That never happens!" and worse from the peanut gallery. That said, express the sentiment privately to a lot of those very same people, and they will agree with you. It's a thing. I first noticed it in the 1980s, and it hasn't let up.
