: When people are confronted with a history they cannot deny, dodge, or deflect, they get really quite shirty. My favorite thing is when they attempt to play the "history is uncertain just like quantum physics" bullshit. They get especially shirty and belligerent when the history they've embraced as a matter of personal identity is fake/false. Worse is when they know it's false but decided history is a lifestyle choice or something, some kind of social fashion accessory.
