@thedisasterautist as a person that hates apple products I am so out of the apple news so this is interesting. hah.

@Nerdsleaze: Apple is integral to parts of China's economy. Much of the tech China "developed" was swiped from or "given to China by" Apple. It used to be that to do business in China, especially manufacturing and any kind of high-tech, China got to take some or a lot of it in trade. That was just the cost of doing business. Their relationship with Apple and lots of other US and EU industries allowed them access to US and EU business and development sectors and our fed/state/local governments.

@Nerdsleaze: China's centrality to most US manufacturing, especially in tech, allowed them to put all that spyware and such all over the west and have it not noticed by the authorities for as long as twenty years. While we were looking for everything to be cheap but profitable, they were depriving their own people of human rights and building their economy to try to knock the $ off as the global trade currency.

They're very smart and really not to be trusted, as a government.

@thedisasterautist WOW! China no matter what people say is a very important country for our success whether it's manufacturing products or even getting them to see a movie which is fucked up because they always take the black person off the poster. Entertainment & Tech need them for their money and smarts. I just thought yanno Apple was such an amazing goody goody company they wouldn't allow such things which is why they do weird things like give android people green text bubbles lol

@Nerdsleaze: Android users get the different color bubble because it's to indicate they're not iPhone users to the people with iPhones. Android text and multimedia messages do not go through Apple's servers like iPhone ones do, and Android doesn't have Facetime native in its OS. It's a practical network and coding feature, not a dig.

Follow

@Nerdsleaze: Apple, though, has turned away from seeing the human rights violations the Chinese have done for decades and still do today in Apple facilities. That's because if they have to take manufacturing elsewhere it'll increase the price of Apple products greatly and reduce stock prices. At this point, Apple and China need one another, as in they're kinda joined at the hip, barring some sort of huge international fallout, like a war or something.
