: Sadly but truly a part of #AspieLife, and yes, while the neuronormative deal with it in no small amount, autistics tend to deal with it disproportionately and in part because of perceived differences in body language, demeanor, eye contact, and social scripting compared to what passes for the norm.

@thedisasterautist Oh yeah. It probably happens far more often than I'm even aware of, since NTs are more likely to go talk to other NTs about it rather than, you know, talking to me or *gasp* asking me what my intentions are. Most of the instances I know about IRL I only know because somebody else came to me and said "so-and-so is saying this about you".
@sanau: I usually didn't find out for years, and I usually found out because people apologized for what I never knew they did. I was always surprised and really, I continue to be surprised a few times a year to this day. Of course, I do keep getting apologies for things from years back as well.
It's a strange life to lead.
