Why do people apologize when they cry? Are your tears acid rain that will burn a hole through my shoe should it catch a drop? I do have a touch of the 'tism, so maybe I just don't understand these things.
@BossyBr00ke I can only speak for myself, but I got in trouble so much as a kid every time I cried that it's just a knee jerk reaction to apologize for it

So the preemptive apology just seems to happen before I know that I'm even crying.

@testamonk @BossyBr00ke EXACTLY. And I was a very sensitive kid and cried over things like the "sponsor a starving child" commercials, so I heard "I'll give you something to cry about" like seven times a day.
