In a 2022 speech at a Lee County Republican Party meeting, Lt Gov Robinson (R-NC), hatemonger candidate for governor, said “the lies that come out” on television should prove that television is satanic.
“I need for you to go look in your Bible and find out how Satan came to Earth,” Robinson said. “Satan comes to Earth as an angel of light. Television is literally light particles broken down through the airwaves come down and reformulated. Where? Inside your TV."

Or is he finding that they do already?
It's so weird when would-be leaders run their understanding of the reality through the least helpful religious/superstitious filters.
It's even weirder when other people fall for it because it was declared with gravitas, and so put fools in positions of power. I sure hope that doesn't happen here.

There is no explanation for that loudmouth crazy hater who is the darling of CPAC. Some Republicans love him and want him to be POTUS. He's been preaching hate from the pulpits in some NC churches as clergy and congregations cheer him on!
NC is overrun by lunatics from the former Grand Old Party which is now Cult of Crazies!

I remember watching a popular TV preacher (I don't remember who, and I don't care) saying awful things about people in the congregation. Those folks were vocally celebrating!
There is some kind of psychology experiment in masochism at work here; the deeper the cut, the more they crave it!
Of course, if insiders believe they deserve abuse, what they believe outsiders deserve is exponentially worse.
