Snow fences play a key role in keeping the blowing snow from clogging highways. North Dakota State University associate professor Mijia Yang is testing a fence made of 6-inch-wide solar panels with spaces in between to look and act like a fence. @wideeyedcurious I've encountered the perspective that everything we make from this point on has to be multipurpose.

We *may* find that there is a diminishing return in overcomplicating things (we must always look to the unintended consequences), but I think the upside is that harnessing energy will keep growing safer and more efficient.

@sumpnlikefaith The weird thing is that I've had this mentality for as long as I can remember. I'm not sure why or where i picked it up. I was already thinking about what is now called the circular economy when I was around 12-13 years old back in the late 1980s.
