Repost due to the MASS SHOOTING that needs to not scroll by people's lives anymore until the next one happens. What do you think needs to be done to curb this violence plaguing our country? Leading cause of death in children: Gun violence. We do not believe that any religious figure would protect metal made by man to kill when their children keep dying.
@witchestruthpost Imagine if Hollywood took a (voluntary) hiatus from gun violence of all kinds.
For a whole year, or two or even five, guns couldn't be pivotal to any plot. They couldn't be glorified in any way. In fact they couldn't even be shown.
Imagine what would happen to storytelling. At the very least, there would be an awakening to how commonly, and cheaply, gun violence is expressed in our culture(s).

I watch different foreign tv shows & movies.
Was watching an episode of "Shetland"(PBS) & noticed how LONG the chasing villians scenes lasted. In American shows, their guns are almost always out-if the bad guy turns & starts to run, guns are fired.
In Shetland, they chase people up multiple stairs, run through the entire village, then down the road, across the field, down the rocks and onto the beach.

Not even a car chase...where 100s of people's lives are in jeopardy in any given scene, and no thought is given to them whatsoever.

It's escalating- #Guns ownership, #GunViolence.
There is no
Constitutional or God-given Right to own guns. They wouldn't have a"standing army"- assoc that w/ British Troops. But they needed protection.The 2nd Amendment was written to include the formation of militias in every state. They could draft men, & the men would supply their own gun & bedroll. Very few people owned guns. The people in town would buy game from the stores.
