The smell of everyones’ fireplaces is so nice but I can’t help but think it probably affects the climate change also. I should try to understand it better since so many rely on it for heat. Where we are it’s ambience more than genuine need, most of the time. When I think of this I think about our sweat lodges, also. We’ve gotten ourselves into a pickle because of industrialization.

@Museek I have been led to understand that using wood is ok because it's a sustainable source and the replanting of forests for harvest reduces the carbon footprint considerably.

@stueytheround @Museek I think that's right. More of an air quality issue, where that's a problem

@b4cks4w @stueytheround @Museek Yes, air quality can be an issue. In the inland valley areas around here, burning is sometimes banned when it'll just hang around and cause potential issues.

A benefit of living near the coast side, no air quality issues. Wood is our primary heat all winter. And given we live in and around forests with ample wood farming, it's sustainable. It's that or propane, can't afford to heat a house with electricity with the ridiculous rates in CA.

@kay_dub @b4cks4w @stueytheround the electric and natural gas is outrageous here..and it often cuts out.

yes air quality is good… that’s a great thing about we are, too.
