Barbara Bush, a daughter of former President GW Bush, has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris and campaigned for her over the weekend, according to People magazine. “It was inspiring to join friends and meet voters with the Harris-Walz campaign in PA this weekend,” Bush told the magazine. “I’m hopeful they’ll move our country forward and protect women’s rights.” Her father has not publicly made an endorsement, although his vice president, Dick Cheney, has said he will vote for Harris.

@Helical_Code Dubya was far from perfect, to put it mildly, but I imagine even he looks at the current state of his former party with exasperation and incredulity.

@stueytheround
I did not like Dubya one bit back in the day, but I had no idea how much worse a republican leader could be.

Do you remember after Trump's American Carnage speech, W is alleged to have said, "That was some weird shit"?

@Helical_Code @stueytheround
I really disliked Dubya when he was president. Now he seems kind of quaint and lovable by comparison. Right now I would welcome that type of Republican. That's how bad it has become.

@SydneyHarper
A major selling point for me now regarding W is the charming rapport he seems to have with Michelle Obama. Remember GHW Bush's funeral?

Yes! That was one of the instances that changed my mind about him.
