@Tacitus_Kilgore Top tip. Don't read the news. Don't watch or listen to the news. Step away from the news for the sake of your heart and mind. 90% of it is actively designed to scare the shit out of you and it's almost all bullshit. Do what *you* can, where *you* are to make *your* small piece of planet Earth a better place for you and your neighbours.
If we all do that, then we are, believe it or not, invincible.
Take heart. You already won!
@Tacitus_Kilgore Trust me. Unless you plan to and are able to actively do something to change it, right now, yes. It can.

At the risk of oversharing.
I have a diagnosis of moderate depression with severe anxiety.
I decided a few years ago to strictly ration my news intake. Not to be uninformed but to give myself better mental health outcomes.
When I realised that purveyors of news see their primary purpose as keeping the population in a state of constant fear, anxiety and anger, everything changed for me.
I can change the world. One person at a time. Starting with me.
1/2
@stueytheround @Tacitus_Kilgore I long ago gave up the idea that I would avoid negativity until I felt stable and not depressed, looney, etc.
I'd never get to it! ; )
@AskTheDevil @Tacitus_Kilgore 2/2
The person who needs an ear, gets my ear.
Their world changes for the better.
The person who needs a hand gets my hand.
Their world changes for the better.
The person who needs a smile gets my smile.
Their world changes for the better.
The person who needs love gets my love.
Their world changes for the better.
The macro world is a dark and frightening place.
Our micro worlds do not need to be.
We can make a difference every day.
Love is the difference ❤️
@stueytheround @Tacitus_Kilgore Right on.
@stueytheround @AskTheDevil @Tacitus_Kilgore this is something I've done in the past few years, and basically for the same reason.
@stueytheround @Tacitus_Kilgore Yup. I've seen it plenty before.
