If Netanyahu and his cronies aren't stopped soon, history will view Israel with the same lens it views Nazi Germany with. Israeli citizens will be left with his baggage after he's long dead. It's shameful and unfair to the vast number of Israelis whose words continue to fall on deaf ears.

Putting aside for one moment the desire of Hamas and other groups to wipe all Jews from the face of the earth, it seems to me that two state solutions fail primarily because both sides want Jerusalem as their capital.
I don't know how the heck to get over that enormous stumbling block.

Worth noting for those who don't know, the Biblical accounts tell us that Jerusalem already existed and was taken in battle by the Hebrews many thousands of years ago.
It wasn't considered a "holy" city really, until David built the first temple and the ark of the covenant was placed there.
However, by the time Mohammed (MHRIP) was around, the Jews had been there for a couple of thousand years, and Christians for over a thousand. So IMO the Islamic claim to Jerusalem is invalid.

I agree, but it's important in this case, because that's the history of the conflict and Jerusalem being holy to three different faiths is the crux of the problem.
Even as a believer in one of those faiths, I truly wish it weren't the case, but it is and it needs to be acknowledged to find a solution.
@LowEndMuse FWIW I think Christians in the region have zero claim to the place in any territorial sense but *perhaps* it might be *their* job to be mediators cuz "Blessed are the peacemakers*".
*That last part includes you because you *are* a peacemaker.
