Horrendous rain overnight has led to flooding. How it got my neighbour but missed me is a complete mystery!

The rain has stopped.
The sun has shown its face and for now at least, we're all good.
We got very lucky.
Feels like a miracle!

This is the band of rain which caused it.
The orange represents roughly ½ inch per hour.
It's heading North West and looks like that's the last of it for today.

Looks like Ukraine will get a piece of that, and hopefully on in the west. Mud is not good for tank warfare, and that's where they are now.

@Maude @homebird when I got home I had to clear 5 drains of windswept recyclable items, leaves and grit. It was enough to fill half of my garden waste bag. I feel I can relax knowing the drains are clear, we are likely to have some rain overnight but not as much as lunchtime.

We are fortunate that following the bad flood is August 2020, the city council put two bigger drains, about 15 to 18 inches square, next to our parking area. One thing I have made a priority since we returned 18 months ago is keeping them clear of leaves so they work best on days like today.
Below is a photo of the drains when they installed them.

I did not realise until just now how much trauma the flood *we* had, had caused.
I'm calming down a bit now.
