Having flashbacks!!
Struggling to control my breathing.
This is next door's back yard right now.
Neighbour is home and I swear I'm in a worse state than she is!
Somehow, it missed us completely this time, but the *noise* it made was the same π’
@homebird
Horrendous rain overnight has led to flooding. How it got my neighbour but missed me is a complete mystery!
@stueytheround Oh wow. I am so sorry! Maybe the flatness of her back garden? Idk. Glad you are ok though! Persisting down here. Very dark and grey. Not planning going out anywhere in that!
@homebird Can't say I blame you! π
Oh no, you guys are getting floods again?
Stay safe and dry π€
@stueytheround @Maude I am glad. Maybe that will help you to be calm again for a bit. The threat of flood is very scary, but looks like you've dodged it. Be safe my friend. π
@stueytheround π€ so glad to hear! Now it needs to do its job and help you dry. @homebird
Looks like Ukraine will get a piece of that, and hopefully on in the west. Mud is not good for tank warfare, and that's where they are now.
@homebird
@Mauve_matelot @Maude Gosh I hope not! That kind of thing is very scary!
@Mauve_matelot
Oh my.... so glad you made it through without major damage.
@homebird
@Maude @Mauve_matelot @homebird @stueytheround Glad my Dearies are ok & Blessedβ€οΈ!
@Gramdma2011 @Maude @homebird
We are fortunate that following the bad flood is August 2020, the city council put two bigger drains, about 15 to 18 inches square, next to our parking area. One thing I have made a priority since we returned 18 months ago is keeping them clear of leaves so they work best on days like today.
Below is a photo of the drains when they installed them.
@stueytheround
@stueytheround Take some deep breaths and try to focus on something that makes you happy and calm. Stay grateful that you were missed this time and hope that your landlord did something to make sure that is the case going forward. π€ β€οΈ
@Mandypar
I did not realise until just now how much trauma the flood *we* had, had caused.
I'm calming down a bit now.
Thanks β€οΈ
@stueytheround What happened? Be calm, my friend. Breathe deep and slow.
