For a couple of gigs. Mary Whitehouse and her hyper conservative "Christian" cohorts manage to convince a couple of local councils to ban the Christian rocker! 🤣
To my knowledge he was never banned from the UK as a whole but a tour may have been cancelled as a result of the individual council bans.

That's what I mean.
He was banned in England, in a few cities but not all of England banned him. The London gig was the Hammersmith Odeon (as it was then). It is up to city or district councils whether to ban an event.
