@bettr
Ok.
Here's the argument *for* as I have understood it.
Religious (specifically Christian) educational institutions are currently exempt from discrimination law regarding their intake.
In other words, they are free to deny entry to a Jew, on religious grounds.
They can not, however, discriminate on grounds of nationality.
The argument is, therefore, if Judaism is a Nationality then Jews can't be excluded from those institutions.
Is that how the EO would be used in practice? Hmmmmmm.
@bettr
It's the same trick DJT tried to use to get the "Muslim Ban" through. Can't do that. Unconstitutional. But maybe you CAN ban a nation?
Here's the rub then.
If the Jews are a nation (even converts) could they then be banned from the country?
@stueytheround I am going to keep being skeptical of this administration's actions and desires. Thank you for the background on the current rationale. The real issue is "the rub" as you so aptly named it.
@stueytheround I just received a text from my Jewish brother-in-law, a former sheriff in Minnesota. Here is his take:
@bettr Thank you. I pray it doesn't some to this.
