I generally don't do this, but this is a cool game that has been demo'ed at a few times, and finally it's released its Kickstarter campaign:

CONGRESS THE BOARD GAME

I've played it in the beta period and it has some wild twists and turns.

Y’all need to stop giving a pass to Republicans because you want to believe some are good...

Query: Need to set up a cheap method to store/play sound effects for a stage play. Tried an MP3 player, tried a laptop w/ iTunes, but it's too much UI to deal with. Need something that I can push a button or key and get the sound to play through a connection to a mixer/amplifier/sound system. Ideas?

I had a dream that Marco Rubio stopped tweeting bible verses and actually tried stopping his constituents from getting shot.

Andrew Gillum has won the Democratic Nomination for Governor! This is history in real time!

Oh, PS: Duncan Hunter's wife, Margaret Hunter, is *also* under indictment for corruption and campaign fraud, because she was his campaign manager.

Duncan Hunter: My indictment was ACTUALLY all my wife's fault!

Also Duncan Hunter: Leave my wife out of this.

No, seriously.

Odious, extreme, authoritarian, Trump-backed candidates keep winning Republican primaries because the Republican party is the party of Trump: revanchist, racist, authoritarian, and proudly ignorant.

We've got to turn out in HUGE numbers in November, so we can defeat these terrible people and start taking our country back.

Smoke is bad here (unhealthful for sensitive groups), but far worse in Eastern Washington--unhealthful to hazardous. The weather/satellite maps show the smoke is circling out into the Pacific and streaming all the way to the East Coast. hwp-viz.gsd.esrl.noaa.gov/smok

Picked up an Echeveria runyonii ("Topsy Turvy") and Lithops salicola ("Living Stones"). Have wanted both for a while. Spent a long time looking for rough sand, but didn't find any. Will use some aquarium gravel for the lithops and just not water.

Smoke here isn't too bad--BC fires are still burning, but PNW has had a few days of respite. Weather's turning again, and the smoke is returning. Look for unhealthful to unhealthy air through Wednesday. :( Try to avoid working/exercising outside when it's like this.

Summer didn't use to be like this. Now August-September are smokey, chokey days.

Finished the edits for a short story (written by a friend). Editing is quite different than writing (duh!), and I find that it takes something out of me, where writing energizes me.

This is a I "rescued" a few months ago. It was just two bare stems. One had two leaves at the top, but they fell off when I got the plant home. I repotted it and left it alone in the sun.

It's rebounded quite a bit. I think it's a type of jade plant, but still don't have enough of the leaves out to really tell. counter.social/media/3N1VmKCZe
