This bothers me:

When I see people who look like me on the street, I know with a good probability that I cannot trust them; that they've gone over to the other side, and that if they knew what I thought and believed, what my values were, they would be hostile, belligerent, and violent; that the only thing protecting me is the color of my skin.

This also bothers me:

When I see people who don't look like me, I know that they probably don't trust me and have no reason to trust me.
