Many hesitate because they think coding is required. It is not. Linux is an OS just like MacOS or Windows with a lot of programs that can be installed - most of which are free & compatible with Win/Mac.

If nothing else, try it in a Virtual Machine so you can keep what you're familiar with until you're ready to change.

@snyde21 Been running primarily Linux for a decade. I just finally updated my (now 10+ years old, maxed out at 8GB, 2x1.5GHz, SSD upgrade) from Win 8.1 to Win 10 only to find out Win 10 has < 2 years of support left. None of our desktops & laptops h/w, including this Ryzen Linux machine (about 4yo) will be supported on Win 11. Guess I'll figure it out in 2025.

@snyde21 Oh, I've been settled on Ubuntu for 5-6 years after a few iterations of Fedora and, back in the day, Red Hat (through RH8; first install was Red Hat on a 486/DX2 to be used as an ipchains router/firewall).

Which reminds me, I need to setup iptables again on my WRT router; I've had too many router failures (wireless failure) and network not configured as I want it.
