I hate this awful smoke. I can't even go outside or open a window without my respirator, or I start hacking/coughing and my lungs start constricting.
I feel bad for people who've been enduring it without the luxury of ensuring 99.97%+ of the smoke gets filtered out before they breathe it in. I could definitely see smoke like this causing quite a few fatalities.

@LnzyHou The problem isn't ignorance on the part of the masses... the problem is selfish malevolence on the part of those holding the reins, and disinformation campaigns intended to rope the masses into going along with it.
We sheep continue to elect these “leaders”.
@LnzyHou You'd be surprised how much power the elite have over that in the US (and elsewhere) both in terms of things like gerrymandering (several US presidents in recent history have lost the popular vote but got the office anyway) and the impact of propaganda bankrolled by huge corporations.
The masses don't form opinions in a vacuum; they form their opinions amidst a no man's land of psyops specifically designed to poison their minds with lies & shift their thinking toward what elites want.

Well, maybe.
But I choose to believe there are more intelligent, clear thinking voters in "the masses" than dumb asses with poisoned minds.
And I'm confident of many more people who value their own opinion over anyone posing as "elite".
