Dear:
Mitch McConnell
Joe Biden
Bernie Sanders
Chuck Grassley
Dianne Feinstein,
Thank you for your service (well, most of you). Please have the courage and honesty to make way for the future. It's now time for the coming generations to take the reins of leadership.
Knowing when your time has passed demonstrates wisdom and courage.
Clinging to power is selfish and weak.
Serve your country a final time by showing us how to retire with grace and dignity.
@TrueBloodNet
I don't care how old people are or whether they walk with a cane or need a wheelchair. I do care if they are clear headed, can clearly communicate, and have not been in office for 50 years.
That's what I want in my Senator. It's not an age thing. Ability and fresh thinking are the job requirements.
@sloudermilk IDC how long someone has been in office as long as they are still capable of being a force for my definition of 'good' and have evolved with the times. Some people are excellent at governance and almost no first term person is great at it. Experience is not a negative thing. We should not discard those that excel just for the sake of someone new any more than we should never take new folks into the ruling body. IMO of course.
