People with access to accurate information voted overwhelmingly for Harris. If you believed violent crime was at an all-time high—which is not true—you were far more likely to vote Republican. Voters who knew that inflation had declined over the last year and was close to historic averages were +53 Democratic votes. People who did not have truthful information about undocumented people crossing the southern border were more likely to vote Republican.

As much I agree with the hypothesis related to those that voted, I think the bigger question is, how does disinformation dissuade voters from voting, not particularly how they vote. Or, was there something else that caused people not to vote.

not all votes are counted yet but once they are this will be interesting to look into.
last i checked % of voter turnout in 2024 was close to voter turnout in 2020 but we still don’t know the breakdown in all the states: who left the dems, who stayed home, and who left it blank ( eg NYC 15% did)
