So … a typical update of my MacOS box is about an hour for a major update install. My Linux machines are similar, even when they’ve been off for a while.

… then there is Windows Update - 6 hours to install 4 updates … 6 bloody hours? That’s ridiculous.

@shadowpages And THAT is but one reason why I am a Linux Mint fan (Used to be Ubuntu before Ubuntu got kind of broken driver-wise)

@shadowpages I should also mention that I am experimenting (Dual-booting) with a new (To me) distro called Linux Nobara, which is a Fedora-based distro.

@XaoslordErie I use Linux for most of my development work. But, like a lot of other people I have a mixture of other OSes around too - Windows consistently succeeds in annoying the hell out of me.

@shadowpages I use Win 7 for music composition / recording, and refused to go further than Win 8.1 on my laptop because 10 & 11 seemed like junk to me. I build my own PCs and there's a lot of "legacy" hardware I have that anything past Win 7 just doesn't like. Linux, however, is generally OK with it and I only have to worry about the odd wonky driver sometimes.
