@LowEndMuse That's garbage, which I know is entirely your point. Dogs can be socialized to cats just fine, and Pit Bulls are dogs, not monsters.
@b4cks4w @LowEndMuse I suspect that's not a big issue for most folks, and they don't want the dog to ignore snakes. For those households with snakes, I'm sure that if properly socialized, even snakes would be safe.
@LadyZurk @b4cks4w @LowEndMuse sounds very reasonable, and it's not like snakes just drop by for a social call. :)
@LadyZurk @sfleetucker @LowEndMuse rat snakes come for the chickens and while I really want the black snakes around, it's...a toss up. She'll alert but the time between that and ☠️ is like 30 seconds
@sfleetucker @LowEndMuse She's been trained to alert on them. Could she be less..reactive? Sure. But highly trainable, very praise-motivated.
@sfleetucker , I don't keep reptiles, and I would prefer Hap to point or alert without scaring them. We don't have venomous ones around here that are medically significant, but I also don't want her to mess with them. Haven't quite found that balance. She usually scares them off about the same time I realize what's up and recall her. 🫤 @b4cks4w @LowEndMuse
