There’s a far more egregious offense in this area that I’ll share with you. Vibrators and other sexual devices no longer come with chargers you can plug into electric sockets. Now they come
with little wires to plug into a USB PORT!!
Now my laptop has no DVD player and ONE USB port that’s used to connect my wireless mouse.

Get the multi-outlets that have USB ports. That’s how I solved my bedroom’s peripherals issue. 😉
