I noticed this morning a dark area on the right upper corner of Smitty’s mouth. It looks like the fur is gone. 😢 He’s not exhibiting any pain when I touch him or pull his mouth up, but this is the side where I give him his dosage of Gabapentin. He was diagnosed with anxiety two weeks ago. I got the Gabapentin at the vets but had to find somewhere cheaper for the Prozac and then afford it. Now, I’m waiting on Chewy to get the Prozac shipped to me. 😢

@see_the_sus
I hope that helps long term no side effects
my son's rescue is still anxious but leaps and bounds more social than when adopted
good luck🙏

His symptoms began last November when I started noticing the fur on his back was becoming thin and coarse, and then dandruff started. I found a really good fish and other oils plus vitamins oil that he would eat and his fur improved.
He’s severely overweight and I’ve tried everything I could afford to keep him from gaining more; no dry food, high-quality soft, feed him away from Maddie who can eat anything, no free feeding.
Then, early Jan I noticed the excessive

*2/2* grooming to where he’s licking off fur on his sides and legs. I got him to a vet. Thanks to @WendyForbes for her recommendation. My family helped pay for the bill which was astronomical and now I’ve got to feed him Hills Science food to help him lose 5lbs, in addition to the meds. I still need to get a cone to keep him from licking.
These pics were taken over two weeks ago and the lack of fur is much worse now. 😢😢

@see_the_sus Oh no. Poor Smitty. I really hope the meds help once you acquire them. @John_Downey
