I'm really getting tired of being the person at work that always gets the bad deal. Whenever we've been short staffed over the years, it's me picking up the slack. This morning I get a text asking if I can come in early because the other receptionist is sick. But they wait until I only have an hour left before I go in anyway to ask me? Oh come on.

I’m the type who will jump in to fill a void if it’ll help the team. I’ve found there are 2 types of managers; those who recognize the effort and pay it back (with choice assignments, a couple hours off here and there etc) and those who simply see you as an easy mark and take advantage. Seems like you have the latter.
