Anyone who's upgraded to fiber optic internet.. I was told they would be doing the outside part first where they connect a box to the house that runs to wherever they have the lines going. Then a tech comes to do the indoor part separately. Our install in scheduled today but we never saw anyone come to do the outside part. Supposedly this is the indoor part. How can they do that without the outdoor part??

@sarcasmsign call your provider, look on the back of your house for a new grey box with a service drop communication line going to the utility pole, if not there, no one came to do anything at all.

@IRNMKE3 Looks like I got my answer. The technician called to say he was on is way and I asked him. He said the people who do the outside stuff are contractors so they can pretty much show up whenever. So he's gonna do everything else so we're ready when they do come.

@sarcasmsign when I did comm line work, we moved to the inverse of what this company does, we'd attach the network to the back of the house, and a contractor would do the inside work, who's your provider if you don't mind me asking?

@IRNMKE3 It's Frontier. The install tech worked for them, the other stuff is done by outside contractors. This guy did everything. Ran the line, brought it into the house, etc.

@sarcasmsign Like a Legit' Frontier tech, with a uniform? Damn, at my previous employer, they wouldn't let contractors touch the network, that was in-house, the inside work, because of Covid and other factors was done by an inside contractor. I hope it works out for you.
