It's notable that, faced with imminent charges of sexual harassment and payoffs, the Eel reasoned or intuited that the safest refuge for him would be among the alt-right, QAnon, and other Trumpers, who would eagerly defend him without critique or question.

One can't exactly say he was wrong. But what does it say about what today's Republican Party has become?

And I would really like conservatives to stop trying to tear down democracy when it doesn't give them the results they want, and to stop trying to select an electorate that will always give them majorities. Because that doesn't just hurt moderates, liberals, and leftists; in the end, it hurts everyone.

I would like to see the people who believe in "(white) replacement theory" or find it credible replaced.

With, you know, good people. Or at least decent and intelligent ones.

It's amazing how the last six years have legitimized and sanitized racist, misogynist, homophobic and anti-trans rhetoric, with predictable results.

Yes, there are people calling this out. But it's not getting to the ears of those who need to listen.

Gov Ricketts on CNN said that if Roe is overturned, the state of Nebraska would not allow abortions even in the case of rape and incest.

Media's inherent bias on race is constantly obvious,...

using less harsh terms to describe whites

and using harsh, insulting, and criminal terminology to describe blacks and latinos

even when the issue at hand is equal, listen to the media, they clearly 'bait' their audience to demonized people of color, while using less violent and harsh terms with whites to lesson their crimes and their guilt

if we dont stop racism in media, we cant stop racism on the street

Between the glaring issues with gun control. The over-reaching desire to control others bodies by SCOTUS. Time to be loud and get the vote out fellow Democrats! Vote in local elections. This madness has got to stop

Even after birth there are further developments that take place before the neonate can be a being that can survive outside the womb.

So there is no one moment at which there is suddenly a "new life" or at which we can say "life begins." It's a combination of many aspects that add up over time, and the boundary lines are arbitrary. This is just what we'd expect from nature, where there are no sharp boundaries.

Good morning to all who believe women have the right to decide who is allowed inside us.

The eel doesn't need ridiculous excuses to get out of his crappy bird deal any more than Putin needs an excuse to get out of Ukraine.

The only thing these exercises in saving face tell us is that their enactor is under the curious delusion that he still has a face left to save.

But once you remove Roe v. Wade, that dam is burst, and every other piece of regressive, reactionary legislation comes out. Prosecuting women who have had abortions for homicide. Controlling the travel of women who might have abortions. Banning gay marriage. Banning gay people from teaching. Criminalizing *being* gay. Criminalizing being trans. Banning interracial marriage. Resegregating public transportation.
And since none of this would fly in a democracy, making sure your vote does not count.

Vote! For goodness sake don't sit this midterm election out like Dems normally do.

2/ my biggest discovery was that when someone calls you a thief, but can’t prove it, it’s because they are a thief. When someone calls you a liar without basis, it’s because they tend to be liars. I have since proven this with various incidents. But it also applies to all aspects of life, especially politics. If a politician screams corruption without proof, it’s because they are corrupt. Next time someone says something horrible, don’t get mad…stop…and realize their statement is about them.

It will never stop being hilarious to me that once women could have access to reproductive healthcare and open bank accounts in their name, men who couldn’t trap their high school girlfriend into marriage decided to just be furious instead of better people. “No one will have my children or marry me…because of feminism” Like, no bro…you’re a terrible human being

That 7% interest rate that capitalizes daily is also not "deeply rooted" in history.

If anyone thought my comment that the anti-abortion crowd are looking for poor Handmaids to provide them a fresh supply of newborn babies was crazy, Alito actually referenced it in his draft:

When thinking about the midterm elections this November and the General Election in 2024, it’s important to see around the corner a little when it comes to SCOTUS.

Clarence Thomas is 73 years old
Samuel Alito is 71
Sonia Sotomayer is 67
John Roberts is 66

That means that the next POTUS may potentially have up to 4 nominations.

That’s enough to flip the court - or make it even more of whatever it is now.

Elections have consequences. Please make sure you vote, midterms & General.
