My mom has no concept of a budget. This is why she’s in the mess that she’s in. Just paid on a store credit card so she’s come up short for essentials. She never asked me, the one who keeps the books what to do .
I’m so fucking sick of this. :(
@Redskye572 ugh, that's tough. Does she at least recognize that she's messing up?
@rpardee she said she got carried away. I have created spreadsheets for her, each pension check has one sheet plus what goes out. Regardless she still comes up short. I just don’t understand it. That store card is in the budget for a certain amount.
@Redskye572 oof. I'm trying to remember how we dealt with my MIL. Her finances were not super-tight thank goodness, and she eventually gave my wife power of attorney & moved into assisted living, so it wasn't so much of an issue.
If she was willing to turn over all the bill-paying & spending to you, would you want to take that on? The day may come...
