Pulled the keycaps on my mechanical keyboard to do a deep cleaning--damn that thing is nasty!

possibly this is something I should do more often than every 3 years...

also--I may need to get a backup keyboard. Going back to my old ms ergonomic kbd is jarring...

@Satchelpooch heh--well the difference between evening & morning lighting is probably making a difference. But I popped off the caps, soaked them in warm dish-soapy water for a bit. Took a vacuum cleaner to the under-caps dirt & then a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to scrub out the grooves. Did an alcohol wipe on the main body of the keyboard.

I just kind of finger-scrubbed the keycaps & changed the water & let them soak for another couple hours. Then took them out & let them dry overnight.

@Satchelpooch probably I should really have removed the switches too--that would have exposed some additional grime that I could have gotten off. Next time.
