Well, shit, my Mom is not doing well. Sibs are saying it may be time for assisted living... :(

Sorry about your mom.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised tho with what is out there.
My mom is in a retirement home where she is thriving and it has more services as needed.
My dad and my MIL each went to assisted living facilities and did very well. Regular meals, activities, friends, being looked after, are all a plus.

I just spent the last few weeks helping my mom get the support she needs. I hope you all are able to come together and navigate it with grace. Especially that your mom gets the support she needs and everyone can rest easy

Thanks all. I'm pretty confident my sibs will be able to get her to a good place, or maybe even keep her at my brother's w/additional in-home help. My sister is a physical therapist assistant who works in a nursing home & she's flying down to assess & vet & help out in the meantime. So it's hard to imagine a better situation for my Mom. It just sucks for her (and for my brother/SIL).

@rpardee Good luck with that. It is VERY expensive if she is paying for it. There are FT home health aides that is cheaper but still very expensive.
Public assistance means that the government chooses the facility and some of those I wouldn't want to put a cat into...much less my mother.
I hope you find a solution it is a gut wrenching decision for everyone.
