Looked at the code sent to us for an ETL job and I am irrationally angry at it.
my dude builds indexes on temporary tables "to speed up performance" and then does a completely heinously unnecessary correlated subquery on said tables.

There's also a completely unnecessary non-correlated subquery, but that's just bewildering, not enraging.
